Praying for
Blessings

Tuesday 10 June

A prayer of St Augustine

Breathe in me, O holy spirit

That my thoughts may be holy.

Act in me, O holy spirit

That my work may be holy.

Draw my heart, O holy Spirit

To love what is holy. Amen

Day 4: Prayer for those in need

Opening

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Reflection

“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”  John 13.34-35

Jesus commands us to love one another and so as we think about those in our communities who need healing or who are struggling to cope with life’s challenges we pray that we may all be blessed and strengthened to help one another.

Petition

God of compassion and mercy, strengthen us by your Holy Spirit to seek and find those who are in need

Those who feel weak and discouraged

Those who are isolated

Those who are in need of your healing, comfort and strength.

Pour out your blessings on all who are in need and bless and strengthen those who reach out to help. Amen.

Closing

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and shall be forever. Amen.
