Windmill Café

Coffee, company and young people learning new skills

Our Windmill Café is open twice a week, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10am to 2pm. It is run in partnership with West Lea School and Learning For Life and offers young disabled students an opportunity to learn barista and bakery skills.

It's also a great place for a coffee! All your favourite hot drinks are available from our coffee cart, with fresh bakes for a couple of hours on Tuesdays, friendly, cheerful service and a beautiful place to sit and relax.

Windmill Edible Garden

Growing food and learning together

Our Edible Garden is constantly changing. Come one day and you might find beans and tomatoes, come another day and find community volunteers  attacking the undergrowth with strimmers.

The idea for the Edible Garden came from the students who run the Windmill Café and over the last year we have cut back and weeded, built beds and planted. Our first year harvest yielded a bumper crop of runner beans, tomatoes and herbs which we shared with our foodbank. This year we are waiting for our first potatoes.
