Day 8: Prayer for Edmonton

Opening

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Reflection

‘Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.”

John 14.23

In good times and bad we praise God for God’s graciousness towards us and God’s endless, overflowing generosity and mercy. And as we praise God we call on God the Holy Spirit to transform us and this place we call home.

Petition

Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. Bless the Lord, O my soul. Alleluia.

Come, Holy Spirit, come and transform this place. Make Edmonton a dwelling place of God, a place of renewal and revival, a place of faith and hope. Turn hearts and minds towards you, grant curiosity to closed minds and hope to those in fear and bless all who have faith in you with the courage to proclaim you as Lord, to the glory of your kingdom. Come, Holy Spirit. Amen.

Closing

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and shall be forever. Amen
